Quiz # 10: Virus, Respiratory, Reproducitve and Excretory system

Virus transmission:
How viruses are transmitted and how could you calculate the rate at which they spread in a population

Respiratory system:
Know all the structures (pg 215, lab manual) on fetal pig as well as their function.
How do alveoli look and thier function (Slide)
What does TV, IRV, ERV, RV and VC represent. How can you calculate them from graph.
Solving all questions on pg 217 will be helpful

Reproductive system:
Go through the theory part from page 219 through 223.
Remember the functions of all these structures.
Fig.1 and Fig.2 of male and female reproductive organs. Should be able to identify the same on human models.
Be able to identify the organs on fetal pig.
Slide of ovaries and testis
Hint: for ovaries try looking out for secondary and graffian follicles
for testis one could see sperms radiating out from the lumen.

Human contraception and STD:
What devices are helpful for contraception and to what extent
Will they be helpful in protecting agains STD's.
Go through questions on pg 225.
What are bacterial caused and virus caused STD's

Excretory system:
Identify the structures associated with kidney on fetal pig
On a slide: Do not mention only kidney if it is asked for something specific. See where the pointer is. Glomerulus could be easily seen.
Identify structures on sheep kidney
able to remember the functions of kidney, the conducting pathway of nephron and different parts of nephron.
